Introduction to Project Management
Staff within publishing companies are increasingly asked to act as project managers, overseeing new product developments and launches.
This one-day course has been created for those working in non-editorial publishing roles who have to manage projects. Whether you are tasked with organising an event, updating a website, running production schedules, or launching a new app, it will give you the confidence to be a good project manager. You’ll gain tips on how to get the most out of your time, understand the terminology of project management; and learn how to plan, execute and close a project. It will also look at good communication, budgeting, scheduling and dealing with any difficulties that may arise.
Please note that the examples in this course are drawn exclusively from non-editorial projects. We recommend Editorial Project Management for editorial staff to gain a more detailed and sophisticated understanding of managing editorial print and digital projects.
