music (general), history of music
Four years at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel, KCB), studying music writing and theory, and music history. While there, I was taught basic research techniques and I took an introductory course on library science.
Before I made the switch to proofreading/editing, I worked as a musician (voice, lute, keyboard instruments). I still sing and play on the side.
Besides English, I speak Dutch and French. I also know German, but read and write it better than I can speak it, and I have a working knowledge of Italian.
I have experience as a translator (but no degree).
