The PTC Board of Trustees
At the Publishing Training Centre, we are lucky to be able to draw on the experience of a dedicated board of trustees, who have between them held some of the most senior positions in UK publishing:
Lis Tribe (Chair)
Lis Tribe is Managing Director of the Hodder Education Schools Division, one of the largest secondary schools publishers in the country. She joined Hodder from Routledge in 1993 as commissioning editor for vocational subjects, and has worked in a variety of publishing roles since then. At a time when the pace of change in educational publishing is really very rapid, Lis firmly believes that training is of great value to companies in supporting and developing their staff in their existing as well as future roles.
Jonathan Glasspool
Jonathan Glasspool is Managing Director of Bloomsbury Academic and Professional and Deputy Managing Director of A & C Black Ltd. He was formerly Product Director in Bloomsbury's Electronic Media Division. Previous jobs include Publisher with Reed Elsevier in Singapore, Melbourne and Oxford. Jonathan was also Head of Publishing at the Institute of Management, where he worked with Hodder Headline, Pearson and Butterworth-Heinemann. He started his career at Cambridge University Press.
Edward Milford
Edward Milford is currently Development Director for the IPG and has had a successful and distinguished career in publishing over the last 30 years.
Robin Hunt
Robin Hunt is Publishing Director at Scholastic Education, having previously worked at Nelson Thornes from 1997 – 2004. He is a member of the PA’s Educational Publishers Council and is currently serving as Vice Chair.
Emma House
Emma House is the Director for Publisher Relations for the Publishers Association, she heads up the international anti-piracy campaigns on behalf of PA members, as well as monitors and lobbies for secure market conditions in key export territories.
Claire Thomas
Claire Thomas is Director of Organisational Development and Talent for Penguin Random House, the world’s leading trade publisher.
Claire’s role is to help keep the company moving forward: through the culture and employee experiences Penguin Random House cultivates and the talent they attract, hire and grow. She has worked in publishing for over twenty years.
Owen Meredith
Owen Meredith is Managing Director/Director of External Affairs at the PPA (Professional Publishers’ Association).
Rolf Grisebach
Rolf Grisebach is CEO at Thames & Hudson. He previously ran Pearson's operations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and before that headed Macmillan's $250m education and STM division in the USA.
Astrid deRidder
Astrid deRidder is Head of Global Custom Publishing for Macmillan Education, Springer Nature
